We know that ensuring our people are well motivated, well rewarded and have the opportunity to develop their true potential is critical to meeting our varied client needs and our continued commercial success.  We therefore encourage continued personal development both through our in house training programme (Capital Markets Training Programme) and externally accredited exams.

City you work in: New York - The best thing about FD is that they like to keep all their employees close to one another so you never feel like you're alone!  NYC is such a great city. There is never any shortage of things to do, and anything you can ever think of is there. It's hard to believe I live here at times, and can't thank FD enough for this. Also I have the pleasure of living with the nicest people ever. In fact everyone over here is so nice, which is all the more important when you live far from home as they are your support network. FD definitely know how to pick the most suitable candidates.

Name: Saidhbh

Education:BSc (Hons) Financial Math. & Actuarial Science, MSc Corporate Finance (both from University College Cork)

Current role:I'm currently working with a large Hedge Fund (a fund of funds domiciled in the Cayman islands but with operations in London) Current work is mainly around a proprietary database - updating and researching information contained in the database. Also working closely with the risk and operational due diligence teams on smaller projects, again mainly research-based, primarily on hedge fund performance and strategies. I get to interact with colleagues working on all aspects of the hedge fund investment process so I’m finding it to be great exposure in a fascinating area of finance.

City you work in: : London - I'm really enjoying working in London - there's a great FD network over here so there's never a shortage of people to see. Working in the city is also a great experience - I work with people from a wide range of backgrounds so I'm learning about a lot of different business areas. Everybody works long hours but there's a great rush and a buzz about the city – it’s very energetic and vibrant.
