Background

Mazars is a large international partnership, specialising in audit, accounting, tax and advisory services. Mazars can rely on the skills of 13,000 professionals in the 61 countries which make up our integrated partnership on the five continents.

The Mazars Group has a global turnover of €900 million and is currently engaged as auditor/advisors to over 15% of top European companies together with a large number of publicly funded and semi state organisations.

Mazars in Ireland

In Ireland, Mazars is one of the largest audit and consulting firms serving the market. We have been providing high quality accountancy and business advisory services to domestic and international clients for more than 30 years. Based in Dublin and Galway, we have 17 partners and over 200 staff, many of whom have significant experience and expertise in conduct of similar projects.

Our client base includes Government departments and agencies, higher educational institutions, local authorities, and a wide range of private limited companies and not for profit organisations.

The Mazars Group works on major assignments across International Service Lines, sharing knowledge and, as appropriate, forming multi-national teams for particular assignments.  This approach ensures that experience and expertise gathered in one jurisdiction can be provided to our clients in others

The Mazars ethos is founded on the concept of partnership. We pride ourselves on providing a timely, high quality, value-added service to all our clients, and in meeting the highest professional standards in all engagements. We ensure that appropriately knowledgeable and experienced personnel are placed on engagements to ensure that our client’s expectations are met.

Let one of our trainees tell you about her day to day in Mazars.

“All accountancy firms are not the same”

I joined Mazars in November 2009 after obtaining a Commerce Degree from UCD. In the past two years I have gained great experience and knowledge working with a range of clients including large corporates, grant bodies, pensions and non-profit organisations.

While the role is challenging Mazars offer excellent support in the form of on the job mentoring, tailored exam training and time off for study leave. Trainees and seniors from previous intakes also provide excellent support and advice all of which makes the makes the job more enjoyable. I look forward to future challenges and opportunities with Mazars.

Niamh Maher, Trainee

“Accountants are not dull people in grey suits”

In Mazars we have a healthy attitude to work, and we like to unwind after all our hard work with some of the following activities:

Christmas party;
A bit of festive fun

Our Christmas party is a firm wide event and is an excuse for our employees to swap their suits for some ‘glamour’ and socialise into the early hours. We were lucky to have a party this year due to the intense snow but everyone made an effort to make it and it proved to be a fantastic night.

Leopardstown races; Summer trip to the races

Among Mazars most prominent social events is our yearly trip to the races where everyone from trainee to partner abandons their accountant ‘morals’ for a chance at winning the ‘big bucks’!

CASSD ; Yearly soccer league

Mazars enter teams in the CASSD soccer league every summer. The tournament provides the opportunity to get to know colleagues and to meet and socialise with trainees from other accountancy firms. There is fierce competition on the pitch but all in the name of good fun.

We’re in the professional services industry. There are other firms doing exactly what we do. So why would anyone chose to work with us?

Because our whole approach is different

Personal responsibility

We are always pushing ourselves that little bit further. We’re not the sort of people who coast by on complacency. The Mazars culture is all about taking on newer and greater responsibilities, testing our skills, knowing our limits – yet still reaching beyond. We do this through encouragement and support by helping people to believe in themselves. The more we grow individually the more Mazars grows as a whole.

Diverse experience and training

We train you to become chartered accountants and tax consultants but crucially to also become business advisors. This is achievable at Mazars because of the experience you will receive from day one. Our staff are not allocated to one service line or sector for the duration of the training contract but are given the opportunity to experience different sectors, industries and service offerings.

International focus

Mazars is one of Europe’s largest accounting firms with 13,000 staff across 61 countries. Because we are an integrated partnership we work together with our colleagues across Europe bringing together specialist skills to serve our client’s needs. We operate an international mobility policy giving our staff the opportunity to work in Mazars offices in Europe and internationally.

Sound attitude

At Mazars we have a sound, down to earth attitude. We focus on working together with respect and getting the job done. We are more like a large family and our staff enjoy an excellent rapport that influences the culture and feel of the firm. We set ourselves high challenges but also leave plenty of time for socialising and getting to know one another better.

 Growth oriented firm

We provide an environment in which our staff can grow professionally and personally – meaning that Mazars grows as a whole. We are constantly developing new services and reaching new markets.

What is the Mazars profile?

Culturally diverse from a wide educational background but sharing common values such as personal responsibility, diversity, internationalism and a certain ‘soundness’ that makes Mazars an enjoyable place to work.
